In God’s Image and Likeness 2
Enoch, Noah, and the Tower of Babel
Preface and Introduction

Part of our book chapter reprint series, this article originally appeared in In God’s Image and Likeness 2: Enoch, Noah, and the Tower of Babel (2014) by Jeffrey M. Bradshaw and David J. Larsen.

Abstract: In the preface and introduction to Jeffrey M. Bradshaw and David J. Larsen’s detailed commentary on the final chapters of the book of Moses (6-8) and the closing chapters of the primeval history of Genesis (6-11), the authors describe the significance of this book to them personally, tell why they take the often-parodied stories of Enoch, Noah, and the Tower of Babel seriously, and show how deeply the accounts in these chapters are interwoven with temple themes. The arrangement of text, illustrations, source, citations, and the use of ancient sources are described.

About the Interpreter Foundation Book Chapter Reprint Series

It has not been updated to incorporate research that has appeared subsequently nor to reflect the current practice of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to use the full name of the Church and to avoid terms such as “Mormon” and “LDS.”
