This added some interesting dimension to what I have been reading/studying over the last few weeks. Thanks for the camel info; I am sure someone in my class will bring this up and I appreciate having an answer that has a little authority behind it. I also appreciated the view of Rebekah and how we, like her, falter in our faith sometimes and want to take things into our own hands. I view Isaac as a pretty easy going type; one who does not want contention. He seemed pretty compliant when his father bound him and placed him on an alter of sacrifice and also allowed Rebekah to be the driving force in these matters. Perhaps the Lord chose her for him for that very reason; she was more assertive and proactive. Successful marriage relationships are very often made up of these two components and it’s the balance that leads to that success.
In reference to the first portion of this roundtable discussion on Milcah – “Milcah was the forbearer of all the prophets in the world,” according to Jewish midrash (Yalkut Shimoni Balak 22:20). This adds an interesting dimension to that which was discussed in the roundtable.
