Thank you for this beautiful insight about burdens and Christmas. It particularly spoke to me, because I just received another witness, through experience, of how ‘bearing one another’s burdens’ is really a peaceful, lovely thing, not a process of taking on someone else’s burdens in addition to our own.
In reality, our own burdens feel lighter when we see ourselves as connected to others and ‘enduring to the end’ in hope and love together. Then, bearing *each other’s* burdens is a joy, because no one is bearing them alone.
It’s a beautiful thing that our Saviour invites us to do. He knows it will bring us greater blessings; while His taking upon Himself our burdens made them so heavy for Him, our own experience of doing as He invites makes them lighter for us and others.
Marvelous message, I particularly liked the idea that He bears our burdens even more than we do. I can’t imagine how much pain and anguish He has saved us from.
I have always enjoyed your writing and thought to myself “oh awesome, he wrote the article for this week!” when I saw your name.
Thank you!
Excellent!!
Thank you!
