Brilliant reading and contextualization, enlightening and establishing useful patterns for further readings. The reading tradition Goff cites, that “Repetition is a feature of all ancient Hebraic narrative,” reminds me of a passage in the Doctrine and Covenants 52:14 that “I will give unto you a pattern in all things.” Discerning those patterns, making connections to shed light and generate valuable insights has characterized Goff’s important essays for several decades.
